Transcultural displacement

Transcultural displacement or cultural displacement is an term to describe results and emotions from migration and immigration. As one adapts to new culture, one loses parts of the other culture or changes original habits to adjust to new surroundings.
There have been a number of writers from the Hispanic and the Afro-American quarters who have written about their experiences.
For some of visual artists like Do-ho Suh, it serves as an inspiration for his works.
